One Sunday in November, Leo and I decided to go for a short cycle to make the most of a sunny day. We set off from ours and followed the river on the north bank all the way to Wandsworth Bridge.
From there, we found the River Wandle, and followed the Wandle Trail along the river. Most of the trail is off road, except for the start in Wandsworth and in Earlsfield. It mostly follows the national cycle route 20, but I still advise checking the map on Sustrans or on the trail’s website.
Otherwise, the trail is pretty flat, and offers a gentle, easy bike ride close to London.
We went all the way to the Carshalton Ponds and cycled back to Wimbledon for a pub lunch, before making our back home at sunset.
